Abstract

Availability and access to inclusive special education services in rural and underserved areas is a long-standing challenge as the infrastructure is scarce, there is a lack of trained professionals and the socio-economic factors restrict access. To overcome these shortcomings, this research paper suggests a more comprehensive teletherapy model based on the combination of synchronous and asynchronous service provision with personalization based on data and low-bandwidth flexibility. The framework is designed in a multi-layer architecture with a user interaction, edge processing and cloud intelligence components to make sure that it is scalable, continuous and uses resources efficiently. A mixed teletherapy design is adopted to strike the balance between real-time communication with the therapist and a flexible and self-paced learning process based on the use of online resources. The reason is that a simulation-based case study is carried out to test the performance of the system in terms of main metrics like improvement of learners, the level of engagement, attendance and percentage of completing the tasks. The outcomes show that the therapeutic outcomes are steadily improving, with a positive contribution to the caregiver’s involvement and adaptive intervention measures. The proposed system is also proven to be efficient by advanced visualization methods of analysis, such as heatmaps, multi-dimensional performance profiles, and stacked contribution charts. It shows that combining technology and user-centric design will greatly enhance the level of access and sustainability of the special education services in the resource-constrained settings. The framework suggested will help to develop scalable teletherapy solutions that will overcome the gaps in service and foster inclusive education. It also brings out as critical the need to integrate technology innovation and contextual adaptability in order to guarantee the long-term effects in underserved populations.
