Abstract

Mobile health (mHealth) apps have emerged as a potential solution that can bridge the therapeutic intervention and academic learning models in special education. The proposed paper suggests an elaborate mHealth platform allowing a smooth and effective combination of therapy and education based on a single, informative platform. The framework includes real time observation, individualized learning, adaptive therapy module and group-communication between the stakeholders, including the educators, therapists, and the caregivers. There is the use of advanced technologies like cloud computing, data analytics and mobile platforms to support continuous assessment and intervention. The proposed system has been implemented and assessed in a hybrid approach to a qualitative and quantitative analysis. The experimental results demonstrate that key performance measures like user engagement, rate of task completion, accuracy and general learning results were significantly improved compared to the traditional approach and existing mHealth solutions. Remote therapy, integration of smart classrooms and early identification of learning and developmental issues can also be assisted by the framework, which makes it very flexible to various educational settings. Although it has its merits, the research establishes the limitations of user engagement, privacy of data, and integration of the system which needs to be explored further. The future work involves improving the system by applying cutting-edge technology of artificial intelligence and increasing the scope of its application by implementing the system in large-scale. The results demonstrate the promise of mHealth technologies in revolutionizing the special education through the provision of accessible, personalized and integrated support to learners with special needs.
