Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of facilitators in supporting continuing professional development (CPD) for Physical Education, Sport, and Health (PJOK) teachers in Indonesia, with particular attention to the challenges, forms of support, facilitation strategies, and meanings constructed through photo elicitation. A qualitative design using photo elicitation interviews is proposed. Twenty facilitators of national PJOK teacher professional development programs will be selected through purposive maximum-variation sampling across Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Papua. Data will be collected through semi-structured online interviews supported by metaphorical and decontextualized photographs. The interview data will be analyzed thematically through familiarization, coding, theme development, review, definition, and interpretation. Trustworthiness will be strengthened through triangulation, member checking, audit trails, reflexive notes, and peer debriefing. The expected findings are organized around five thematic directions: facilitators as bridges between policy and classroom practice, structural and pedagogical challenges in facilitating CPD, the role of institutional and collegial support, adaptive strategies used by facilitators, and the value of photo elicitation in stimulating reflective narratives. The study is expected to contribute a contextual understanding of facilitator work in PJOK teacher CPD and to offer practical recommendations for designing more responsive, reflective, and sustainable professional learning systems in Indonesia.
