Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Development to Enhance Operational Readiness in Papua

Abstract

Purpose

This study aims to investigate the development of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) to improve the operational readiness of military task forces in Papua. It focuses on categorizing operational types, formulating operational readiness concepts, and designing an effective ILS model.

Design/methodology/approach

The research adopts a qualitative approach with quasi-qualitative methods. Data were collected through interviews and literature review, emphasizing logistical practices and operational strategies tailored to the challenges in Papua.

Findings

The study finds that integrated ILS models enhance logistical efficiency, minimize operational losses, and increase mission success rates. It highlights the importance of adaptive logistics and technology integration in addressing operational challenges in remote and high-risk areas.

Originality/value

This research contributes to the discourse on military logistics by proposing a structured ILS model specifically designed for Papua’s operational context. The findings provide actionable insights for policymakers to strengthen Indonesia’s defense logistics and operational preparedness in critical regions
