Abstract

The rapid integration of digital technology into education has transformed the way teachers and students communicate, interact, and participate in teaching and learning activities. Digital platforms, learning management systems, video conferencing tools, educational applications, and interactive technologies have created new opportunities for communication beyond traditional classroom environments. This study examines the role of educational technology in teacher-student interaction and its influence on engagement and learning outcomes. The study takes a quantitative research approach and focuses on teachers and students participating in technology-supported educational environments. It is proposed that data be collected using a structured questionnaire using a Likert-scale measurement framework. The study examines the use of educational technology as an independent variable, teacher-student interaction as a mediating factor, student engagement as an additional mediating factor, and learning outcomes as dependent variables. A statistical analysis is proposed to assess the relationships between these variables and determine whether technology-supported communication contributes to more effective educational interaction and improved learning outcomes. The study is expected to provide evidence on how digital communication can strengthen teacher accessibility, feedback, participation, collaboration, and engagement. It also considers challenges such as reduced personal interaction, technological barriers, communication difficulties, and unequal access to digital resources. The results are intended to provide practical implications for teachers, educational institutions, and policymakers seeking to develop effective teaching and learning environments supported by technology.
