Emotional Intelligence and its Relationship to Ethical Thinking Among Elected Provincial Council Members (Decentralization) Case Study: Central Region*

Abstract

Objectives: The current study aimed to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and ethical thinking among members of elected provincial councils (Decentralization) in the central region of Jordanian society.

Methodology: The study employed a descriptive analytical approach due to its suitability for the research objectives. The sample consisted of a purposive selection of 110 participants who responded to the study questionnaire.

Results: The results indicated that both emotional intelligence and ethical thinking levels were high among the participants. Moreover, the findings revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and ethical thinking within the study sample.

Conclusion: Based on these results, the study recommended the promotion of a culture of emotional intelligence and ethical thinking among employees in social and developmental institutions. It also emphasized the importance of organizing workshops aimed at applying emotional intelligence and ethical thinking skills in everyday life contexts.
