Abstract

This study highlights the importance of prioritizing the cognitive and emotional development of adolescents in Villa El Salvador, 2025. The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) addressed in this process is SDG 4: Quality Education. This contributes to the development of objectives that seek to establish the relationship between social skills and positive discipline, which is key to the holistic development of secondary school students. The methodology used was basic in nature, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of 70 second-year secondary school students from in Villa El Salvador. Data collection techniques included the Social Skills Checklist and the Positive Discipline Questionnaire for Adolescents. The results show a weak positive correlation between positive discipline and social skills in the students (ρ = 0.360; p = 0.002). The study concludes that as positive discipline is promoted in the educational setting, the development of social skills in students will also be strengthened. Suggesting the activation and implementation of positive discipline strategies aimed at strengthening students' social skills, with the purpose of improving school climate and emotional well-being
