Abstract

This study aimed to identify the relationship between religion and attitudes toward women’s sports. The descriptive approach was used because of its suitability to the nature and objectives of the study. The study population and sample consisted of all female students at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Hashemite University, totaling 200 students. They were selected using the purposive sampling method.


The researcher developed the study instrument, which was a questionnaire consisting of 10 items distributed to the study sample. After collecting the relevant data, they were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including means, standard deviations, and percentages.


The results showed a clear positive attitude among the sample members toward the role of religion in encouraging women to practice sports. The researcher recommends enhancing moderate religious awareness and directing awareness campaigns that encourage a correct and balanced understanding of religion.
