Contemporary Issues in School Education, Effectiveness of Teaching and Job Satisfaction of High School Teachers

Abstract

The modernization and changes in education is taking place consistently in India for improving economic progress and protecting values of life of individuals and also for attaining human rights, moral and ethical values, equality and personal development of individuals. At the same time, school education in India is also facing different issues and they are varying across the time horizons and need and demand of students and society and it is also facing important issues of quality, equity, expansion and excellence. The findings reveal that economic difficulties, lack of moral values, insufficient infrastructure, political interference and heterogeneity have significant and negative influence on job satisfaction of high school teachers. Furthermore, insufficient infrastructure, economic difficulties, political interference, heterogeneity and lack of moral values have negative and direct influence on effectiveness of teaching of high school teachers, while, effectiveness of teaching has positive and direct influence on job satisfaction of high school teachers. Thus, all the hypotheses are supported by the findings and limitations of the study are also presented..
