Technology-Enhanced Inclusive Education: Strategies for Supporting Diverse Learners in Global Classrooms
Main Article Content
Abstract
The increasing diversity of learners in contemporary classrooms has intensified the need for inclusive educational practices that ensure equitable access, participation, and achievement. Technology has emerged as a critical enabler in advancing inclusive education by offering flexible, accessible, and personalized learning opportunities. This narrative review examines the role of technology-enhanced strategies in supporting diverse learners, particularly those with special educational needs, within global classroom contexts. The study synthesizes literature on key approaches, including assistive technologies, adaptive and personalized learning systems, universal design for learning, collaborative digital environments, and artificial intelligence-driven tools. The findings indicate that technology can significantly enhance accessibility, engagement, and learner autonomy when effectively aligned with inclusive pedagogical principles. However, challenges such as the digital divide, limited teacher preparedness, infrastructural constraints, and ethical concerns related to data and equity continue to influence implementation. The review highlights that the success of technology-enhanced inclusion depends on systemic alignment across pedagogy, policy, and institutional practices. It concludes that while technology offers substantial potential for advancing inclusive education, its impact is contingent upon context-sensitive, equitable, and sustainable integration strategies.
