Artificial Intelligence and Fintech Applications in Special Education: Transforming Financial Decision-Making and Inclusion

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Financial Technology (Fintech) are transforming educational and financial ecosystems by enhancing accessibility, inclusion, and personalized support for individuals with special educational needs. Students with disabilities often encounter barriers in acquiring financial literacy and participating effectively in financial decision-making. This paper examines the role of AI and fintech applications in special education and their potential to promote financial inclusion and independence. The study adopts a qualitative, literature-based approach by reviewing recent scholarly articles, reports, and policy documents related to AI, fintech, special education, and financial literacy. The analysis focuses on AI-driven adaptive learning systems, assistive technologies, digital banking platforms, mobile payment solutions, and personalized financial management tools. The review suggests that AI and fintech have significant potential to improve financial literacy, budgeting skills, decision-making abilities, and access to financial services among learners with disabilities. These technologies support personalized learning, enhance financial empowerment, and promote greater economic participation. However, challenges such as data privacy concerns, accessibility gaps, algorithmic bias, and technological inequalities remain significant barriers to effective implementation. The study highlights the need for inclusive and accessible AI-fintech frameworks to strengthen financial empowerment, independence, and social inclusion among individuals with special educational needs.
