Evolution of Evidence Based Visual Art & architectural Practices in the 21st Century

Abstract

The 21st century has witnessed a paradigm shift in Visual Art & architectural practice from intuition-driven design to data-informed decision making. Evidence Based Design (EBD), originally rooted in healthcare architecture, has expanded across multiple building typologies through advancements in digital technologies, big data, and performance analytics. This paper examines the evolution of evidence based Visual Art & architectural practices, exploring their theoretical foundations, technological enablers, and real world applications. Using a descriptive and analytical research methodology, the study synthesizes existing literature and case studies to evaluate how data driven approaches enhance design efficiency, sustainability, and user well-being. The findings reveal that while EBD significantly improves building performance and user satisfaction, challenges remain in data integration, accessibility, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
