Ho Chi Minh's Thoughts on Democracy in Education

Abstract

This paper examines Ho Chi Minh’s thought on democracy in education, positioning it as a foundational component of Vietnam’s human development strategy. The study focuses on several core dimensions: the principle of universal access to education, the role of the people as central agents in the socialization of education, the goal of holistic human development, and the democratic implementation of teaching and learning methods. The findings demonstrate that Ho Chi Minh’s educational philosophy is not only profoundly humanistic but also functions as a guiding framework for constructing a learning society in which the people are both the objective and the driving force of development. His thought continues to provide theoretical and practical orientation for the transformation of Vietnam’s education system in the contemporary era.
