Impact of Occupational Health and Safety on Quality of Work Life among Cleanliness Employees in Tamil Nadu – Mediating Role of Employee Well-Being

Abstract

The study examines the impact of occupational health and safety on quality of work life among cleanliness employees with mediating effect of employee wellbeing in Tamil Nadu. The study considers 524 cleanliness employees across several places in the study area. Questionnaire is used to collect direct responses. Structural equation modelling, One-Way ANOVA and post-hoc test are used to analyze the data. Effective safety measures improve physical comfort, lower stress levels, and boost employees’ sense of security and dignity at work, according to the research. The important way that occupational health and safety contribute to better work-life outcomes is through employee well-being. Results prove that employees’ perceptions of safety precautions, well-being, and work-life balance are influenced by their experience. Safety interventions work best when they support employees’ well-being, creates more hygienic, courteous, and long-lasting workplace.
